Death of boy in accident sparks tension

Mild tension prevailed at Mangalhat on Sunday following the death of an eight-year-old in a road accident.

The child B. Vishal, a second standard student who was going on a bicycle came under the wheels of a goods vehicle near Maisamma temple in Raheempura. The vehicle was carrying a consignment of Plaster of Paris used in making idols.

“The boy who was coming from the opposite direction fell from bicycle while trying to enter a lane. He came under the rear wheel of the goods vehicle and died instantly,” Sub Inspector Mangalhat, P Venkat Reddy said.

Soon after the accident, a crowd gathered and tried to burn the vehicle.

On receipt of information, the police rushed to the spot and pacified the people.
