Deadly weapons seized; 1 held

Police seized deadly weapons from a car during a vehicle check in Vepery on Monday night.

A special night patrol team was engaged in vehicle check on Vepery High Road when a car did not stop at the check-point. The police gave the car a chase and stopped it.

One arrested

The team nabbed one person while four others travelling in the car escaped. The police retrieved two big knives from the vehicle.

The arrested person has been identified as Ganesan of Sholavaram in Tiruvallur district, who has several criminal cases against him. The other four are also from the same area, police sources said.

The police have filed a case and are investigating.
