Dayalu Ammal too ill to travel: Karunanidhi

June 02, 2013 03:07 am | Updated November 17, 2021 02:45 am IST - CHENNAI:

DMK president M. Karunanidhi said on Saturday that a decision on responding to a Delhi CBI court order in the 2G spectrum allocation case requiring his wife Dayalu Ammal to appear as a prosecution witness on July 8 will be taken in consultation with advocates.

Talking to newsmen here, the former Chief Minister said that he would not normally express his views on court orders but in this case, a plea for exemption from appearance on medical grounds had been dismissed by the CBI court though medical records were produced.

Mr. Karunanidhi claimed that Ms. Dayalu Ammal was so ill that she cannot even undertake the journey by plane.
