Selvi, daughter of Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, is canvassing votes door-to-door in Tiruvarur Assembly constituency.

Selvi, accompanied by K.T. Muthu, son of K. Thennan, childhood friend of the Chief Minister and chairman of Tiruvarur Municipality, visited houses in the town area.

Selvi started her campaign a day before the Chief Minister kick-started his campaign at Tiruvarur on March 23 and, since then, has intensified it. T.R. Baalu, former Union minister, who is in-charge of the election campaign of the Chief Minister, also campaigned for a couple of days. The DMK has enlisted film stars for campaigning.

Actor Vadivelu entertained the audience with his witty speech, most of which was devoted to criticising DMDK chief Vijaykant, at the public meeting where the Chief Minister launched his campaign. Other stars to visit the constituency include Napoleon, Kushboo and Vagai Chandrasekar.

The Chief Minister plans to campaign again in the constituency on April 10 and 11.
