Cyclone rehabilitation: Rs.11.97 crore handed over to Jayalalithaa

The total contribution to Chief Minister's Public Relief Fund is about Rs.128.3 crore

Eight Ministers on Tuesday handed over about Rs.11.97 crore collected by their departments to Chief Minister Jayalalithaa towards relief and rehabilitation work in Cuddalore and Villupuram districts affected by cyclone ‘Thane'.

Among the Ministers were Health Minister V.S. Vijay (approximately Rs.5.39 crore); Agriculture Minister S. Damodaran (Rs.1.69 crore); Higher Education Minister P. Palaniappan (Rs.1.39 crore); Highways and Minor Ports Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami (Rs.90.6 lakh); Adi-Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Minister N. Subramanian (Rs.88 lakh); Dairy Development Minister V. Moorthy (Rs.74.6 lakh); Animal Husbandry Minister T.K. M. Chinnayya (Rs.70.87 lakh) and Handlooms and Textiles Minister S. Sundararaj (Rs.25 lakh).

So far, the total contribution to the Chief Minister's Public Relief Fund is about Rs.128.3 crore.
