As per the announcement made in the Railway Budget presented in Parliament on Thursday, customer helpline number 138 was installed in Salem Division, southern Railway and made functional on Friday.
It will handle all voice complaints relating to cleanliness, food and catering, coach maintenance, linen, etc. The commuters can also seek assistance in case of medical emergency, etc.
An official press release of the Salem Railway Division issued here today called upon the travelling public to take advantage of this facility and help southern Railway to serve them better.
