District Collector R.Kirlosh Kumar has passed an order banning the entry of Pattali Makkal Katchi founder S.Ramadoss and Jayamkondam MLA J. Guru into Cuddalore district for a period of two months, ie., from January 21 to March 20.
During the period they are also prohibited from staging any agitations or organising public meetings anywhere in the district.
In a statement released here, the Collector stated that the order was passed on the recommendation of Superintendent of Police A.Radhika.
It states that keeping in mind the volatile situation prevailing in the district and to prevent any law and order problem that might disrupt public peace such a ban on the leaders has been warranted.
Tense situation prevails in the district with simmering discontent between two communities in the wake of violence at Pacharayapalayam near Vadalur and Meliruppu near Panruti that witnessed arson and looting recently.
