Crack on rails: trains delayed

Four trains from Chennai — Pandian, Nellai, Ananthapuri and Pearl City Expresses — were running half-an-hour to one hour behind schedule in the small of housrs of Wednesday owing to crack on rails between Tamaraipadi and Vadamadurai railway stations. A technical team rushed to the spot and welded the track. Later, train operations resumed. Meanwhile, the locomotive pilots have been cautioned to cross this section at low speed. Pandian, Nellai, Ananthapuri and Pearl City Express trains were running late.
