State Secretary of the Communist Party of India (CPI) D. Pandian on Sunday said the party would be part of an alliance that did not include the Congress or the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the 2014 general elections.
Talking to reporters after participating in a two-day meet here, the CPI leader was critical of the way the Congress and the BJP projecting Rahul Gandhi and Narendra Modi respectively in the run-up to the LS polls.
He wanted the BJP to come out with a detailed comparative analysis of economic development in Gujarat and other States.
The CPI would organise demonstrations and road blockades across the country on October 3, 4 and 5, condemning the Union government’s economic policies. On October 5, the party agitation would take place in Tamil Nadu, he said.
