September 29, 2011 09:27 am | Updated August 02, 2016 03:51 pm IST - CHENNAI:

Leaders of the CPI and the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam on Wednesday came to a seat-sharing agreement to contest in the local body polls.

“We are now part of the alliance, but it will take sometime to work out the seat-sharing agreements. Probably on Wednesday night we will be able to finalise the list,” CPI state secretary D. Pandian told reporters.

DMDK leader Vijayakanth said a few more parties were in touch with him and they might also join the alliance.

He said he was busy with the election campaign, but the leaders of the DMDK and the CPI would continue their talks on seat-sharing.
