Court orders summons to Premalatha in defamation case

The Principal Sessions Court here on Friday ordered issue of summons to Premalatha, wife of DMDK leader Vijayakant, in connection with a defamation case filed by State government.

The Captain TV recently aired a news item concerning Chief Minister Jayalalithaa.

Ms. Premalatha was cited as accused as she is the chairperson of the TV channel.

Taking complaint on file, the court also ordered summons to L.K. Sudhish, managing director, two news editors and a news reader of the channels, directing them to appear on August 21.
