A city civil court here has restrained Nakkheeran from publishing a series on the life of Dharmapuri youth E. Ilavarasan, who was found dead near a railway track.

N. Arunachalam, XII Assistant Judge, gave the interim injunction restraining R.R.Gopal, editor, printer and publisher of the weekly, from printing and publishing such item following a suit filed by the deceased youth’s father, T. Elango.

According to Mr.Elango, the weekly fabricated a story under the name of ‘Ilavarasan Pesukiren’ and widely circulated without his consent and knowledge. Taking advantage of his pathetic position as a Dalit, he alleged the weekly misused the name and fame of his deceased son.

Mr. Elango also sought a permanent injunction restraining the weekly from publishing any story about the life of Ilavarasan.
