The official machinery is going all out to check the distribution of money and gifts during the campaign period.

The flying squad personnel, conducting surprise check round the clock across the city and also in different parts of the district, are of late concentrating on the delivery boys of private couriers and the firms delivering products, for which orders were placed online.

The personnel of the flying squad attached to the Salem North constituency conducted surprise check of the products being carried by the delivery boys.

They checked each and every package being transported on two-wheelers and bicycles and enquired with the delivery boys whether they were carrying gift articles to the voters, supplied by political parties.

The personnel also made enquiries with them whether they were carrying any money for distribution to voters by party men.

The flying squads personnel have so far seized Rs. 89.26 lakh during raids in all the eleven constituencies and silver anklets and paddy, both worth Rs. 6 lakh.
