The Puzhal police on Saturday arrested four persons and seized three country made bombs from a house in Arumbakkam.

According to the police, a team that was conducting a routine vehicle check near Kavangarai intercepted a gang of four who came on two motorbikes. However, three of them fled and Vishal (23) of Vysarpadi was caught.

During interrogation, he said the gang plotted to kill a gangster, Thoppai Ganesan. The police also recovered three country-made bombs hidden in the house of Arvindh, one of the persons who fled, in Arumbakkam. The bombs were intended to be used for the murder, Vishal told police.

Police arrested three more persons, who were part of the conspiracy, and are on the lookout for Arvindh and his accomplices.
