Counselling begins at Government Arts College

The process for admission to graduation courses in the Government Arts College (Co-education) in the city for the academic year 2016-17 got underway here on Monday.

The college had received about 6,000 application forms for ten courses offered by it.

Special team led by R. Dhanalakshmi, principal, conducted counselling for the sports quota candidates first and later for those who had applied for the vocational courses.

The rank list of the candidates based on the marks secured by them in the Plus-Two course was also displayed in the college notice board.

The counselling for Tamil and English will be held on May 31. The counselling will continue on June 1, 2, and 7, the principal added.

The counselling for admission to the courses offered by the Government Arts College for Women, Hasthampatti in the city will be held from June 1 to 7, according to Manimozhi, principal.

In the Namakkal Kavignar Ramalingam Government Arts College for Women, the counselling for the special quota has been scheduled for June1, for science subjects on June 2, and for arts subjects on June 6. The second counselling for science subjects will be held on June 9, and arts courses on June 13.

The counselling for admission to science subjects at the Arignar Anna Government Arts College, Namakkal town, will be held on June 13 and for arts, B.Com, and BBA courses on June 15, according to college sources.

The Thiruvalluvar Government Arts College, Rasipuram in Namakkal district, will have the counselling for special quota candidates on June 10, science subjects on June 13, commerce on June 15, Tamil and English literature on June 20, and other subjects on June 22.
