Cooptex summer exhibition begins

Eye-catching handloom varieties procured from the handloom cooperative societies across the State have been displayed at the annual summer exhibition brought up by the Cooptex which commenced at the Bose Maidan in the city on Wednesday.

A. Amalraj, Commissioner of Police, declared the exhibition open in the presence of K. Thangavelu, Regional Manager, Cooptex.

Cotton sarees, summer cotton printed sarees, dhoties, and towels, procured from the cooperative societies attached to the Cooptex and functioning in Coimbatore, Madurai, Paramakudi and Tiruchi; and bed spreads, shawls, bedsheets, curtains, readymade garments, have been displayed in the exhibition. A discount of 20 per cent is given for all handloom, cotton and silk varieties. The Cooptex Managing Directors - R. Boopathi (Salem), C. Kalaivani (Namakkal) and M. Thangavel (Karur) offered felicitations.
