Convocation for first batch of MD held

The third graduation day for MBBS and the first graduation day functions for MD for the pre and para clinical subjects of Sri Venkateshwaraa Medical College Hospital and Research Centre, Ariyur, Puducherry, were held on Friday at Sai Auditorium in the College Campus.

The Chairman of Ramachandra Educational Trust B. Ramachandran presided over the function. B. Vishnu Bhat, Dean Research, Jipmer, Puducherry, graced the occasion as the chief guest and distributed the graduation certificates and delivered the Convocation Address.

The Annual Report was given by the College Principal S. Ratnasamy.

Anitha. J (General Surgery), Durai Prabakaran (Pediatrics, Microbiology, Pathology and ENT), Dr. Priyanka Clementina Stephens. S (Microbiology), Laksmi Tejasri (Anatomy) and V.L. Surya (Obestrics and Gynaecology), were the medal winners from the Pondicherry University and they were honoured in this function.

The founder of Ramachandra Education Trust Radha Ramachandran, the Managing Director Rajiv Krishna, Medical Superintendent Muniappan and the General Manager Soundararajan participated in the function.

All the principals of Sri Venkateshwaraa Group of Institutions, Special Officer Ramesh, Senior Administrative Officer Shivaji, Administrative Officers Arumugam and N.R. Pukazenti, all the staff members and students participated in the function.

Time to celebrate placements

Sri Manakula Vinayagar Engineering College had their Jubilation Ceremony’16 recently. This function is celebrated to honour the achievements of the students who got placed in many reputed multi-national companies (MNCs). The principal of the college V.S.K. Venkatachalapathy welcomed the gathering. M. Dhanasekaran, Chairman and Managing Director, Sri Manakula Vinayaga Educational Trust delivered the presidential address. He praised the students for their achievement and insisted on strengthening the good rapport between the institutions and the students. He stressed for a cordial relationship of every student with their family members.

The Chief Guest, Mary Praveena, Delivery Head, Banking and Financial services, TCS, Chennai, spoke about the work environment in IT industries and explained the various needs of the industry.

She informed the students about the industry’s expectations from employees, and the various technologies that a student should learn and practice to be a part of the IT world.

She also pointed out what an IT person should learn and how that will help the students in getting opportunities.

She gave 800 offer letters to the students from various departments. Professor N.S.N. Cailassame read the placement report and the session came to an end by the vote of thanks delivered by Madhu Sudanan, Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.
