Former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy on Friday alleged that the Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) had suffered a loss of Rs. 950 crore in terms of cost escalation as a private contractor had stopped the underground construction works in front of the Vidhana Soudha for a year.
Participating in a debate in the Assembly on the State Budget, Mr. Kumaraswamy alleged that a hard rock had surfaced during the ground drilling work. Instead of using quality drillers to make way through the rock, the contractor had used poor quality machines leading to problems.
