The government should lower the minimum age for women in case of the scheme being implemented by the Construction Workers Welfare Board for old age pension. A resolution adopted by the Tamil Nadu Construction and Unorganised Workers Federation at a conference on Tuesday stated that the minimum age should be fixed at 55 years.
The amount of pension should be hiked to Rs. 1,000. Ministers Poongothai, Geetha Jeevan and Chennai Mayor M. Subramanian and Construction Workers Welfare Board Chairperson Pon Kumar addressed the conference.
