The husband of a woman police constable allegedly committed suicide here on Thursday.
Police said S. Jayaraj (38) of Kulavanigarpuram, who was working in a foreign country, had returned to India on vacation. When Jayaraj contacted his employer recently, he refused to extend his employment. Upset over this, Jayaraj allegedly hanged himself in his rented house at Kulavanigarpuram on Thursday when his wife Angel Thangarathina, a police constable, had gone for duty. When Ms. Thangarathina returned home, she found her husband hanging. Melapalayam police have registered a case.
