The Congress on Friday allocated two seats to Pattali Makkal Katchi and one seat to Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi in the 30-member Legislative Assembly. The PMK has been given Manaveli and Mannadipet constituencies, and the VCK, Nedungadu (SC) constituency in Karaikal, sources in the Congress said.
Meanwhile, AIADMK and N.R. Congress on Friday resumed talks in Chennai to form an alliance for the elections.
N.R. Congress is likely to get 17 seats and remaining for the AIADMK and its allies, sources in N.R. Congress said. The VCK will work for the victory of Congress led alliance in the Union Territory.
Announcing the party candidate, Arasu Vanangamudi for Nedungadu (SC) constituency here on Friday, convener of the Puducherry unit of VCK Pavanan said party cadres would work to ensure the victory of alliance candidates. Party chief Thol Thirumaval would campaign in Karaikal and Puducherry.
The party would release the election manifesto on April 1, Mr. Pavanan said.
