The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering of V.V. College of Engineering, Thisaiyanvilai, organised the second national-level conference on ‘Communication, Information and Control System’ recently.

S. Senthil Kumaran, LAVA Software Engineer, Linaro Limited, Cambridge, The United Kingdom, was the chief guest.

In his address, he explained the features of advanced computing and controlling technologies. He urged the students to use the available resources of the college to the maximum for the development of their knowledge. P. Melba Mary, principal, inaugurated the conference. A total of 65 research scholars and students from various colleges presented their research papers.

A group of students from SCAD College of Engineering and Technology, Cheranmahadevi, participated in the national-level competition held at IIT Mumbai and won second place.

Institute of USA and Technophilla jointly conducted 2-days national-level competition on ‘Robotics’ at IIT-Mumbai. In this event, 40,000 students from 540 universities and colleges from all over India participated.

Students from SCADCET won the second place in this competition to bag trophies, medals and certificates. The winners were honoured by S. Cletus Babu, chairman, SCAD Group of Institutions.

Students motivated

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering of Einstein College of Engineering recently organised the conference on ‘Advanced VLSI, Image Processing and Communication Systems.’

Chief guest of the event, Nirmala Sathishkumar from Aeronautical Development Agency, Bangalore, motivated the students to do their research activities which should be useful for society. She encouraged the students to learn the latest technology in various fields. A total of 40 participants presented their research articles in four streams.

Workshop

A one-day State-level workshop on ‘Milieus in Beedi making Industry’ was organised at Thiruvalluvar College, Papanasam, recently. In his presidential address, C. Azhakappan, principal of the college, pointed out the extant scenario in the beedi making industry. Speakers of this workshop argued the need for ensuring alternative livelihood for the people working in beedi rolling. A total of 121 persons participated in the workshop.
