The Central and Tamil Nadu Governments should conduct immediately a special census on community basis and grant suitable representation to Vanniyars in all Government posts, PMK’s Tamil Nadu unit president G K Mani,MLA, said.
“The Vanniyars, basically in a backward status, is still struggling to get proper education and employment. So the Government should give priority to Vanniyars in education and jobs”, he said on Sunday evening at a party meeting here in connection with a ‘Vanniyar conference.’
