The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) has complained to Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Kumar against Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam president M. Karunanidhi and treasurer M.K. Stalin that the two leaders were reported to have made speeches, by referring to a disproportionate assets case against Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, in violation of the model code of conduct.

The party also called upon the CEO to ensure that news reports regarding the reported speeches be not telecast in the network of television channels belonging to Kalaignar TV and Sun TV as the channels repeatedly telecast the reports.

Contending that the case was “falsely fabricated” which was pending trial in a special court in Bangalore, the party, in a representation signed by its advocates, referred to the speeches reportedly made by the DMK leaders in Chindatripet in Chennai and Tiruvallur this week. The party, which accused the leaders of having attacked Ms. Jayalalithaa personally, argued that “a matter, which is sub-judice, cannot be canvassed in election meetings.”
