Muthulakshmi of Nadukkadai Colony, Udangudi, submitted a petition to Collector M. Ravikumar at the Collectorate here on Monday, demanding compensation for her two-and-a-half-year-old daughter Abhinaya, who suffered injuries after a portion of the roof of an anganwadi centre collapsed and fell on her on August 10.

Muthulakshmi said action should also be taken against the building contractor of the anganwadi centre and engineer of Udangudi town panchayat for approving such a building, which was constructed a month ago.
