The Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (KSCPCR) has ordered a school in Rajajinagar to refund the ‘extra fees’ collected from parents of students admitted under the RTE quota.

Kripa Alva, chairperson of the commission, summoned the management of SVES English High School and sought an explanation for collecting extra fees from parents since 2012 under various sub-heads, including smart class and maintenance fee. RTE Students and Parents’ Association filed a complaint against the school management on behalf of parents.
