Collector reviews dengue prevention measures

February 01, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:51 am IST - Tiruvannamalai:

Collector A. Gnanasekaran has reviewed dengue prevention measures being taken up in the district, here on Saturday.

He consulted in this regard with officials of health, rural development and local bodies at a meeting convened at the Collectorate.

Mr. Gnanasekaran advised officials to continue with mosquito eradication activities, chlorination of water, cleaning neighbourhoods, fogging, prevent sewage stagnation etc.

The Collector also called upon the public to see to it that there were no abandoned containers in and around their houses that contain water, as the non-sewage water stored in these containers breed mosquitoes that spread diseases like dengue and chikungunya.
