District Collector A. Gnanasekaran released the draft list of socio economic census, prepared based on population census 2011, here on Monday.
District Revenue Officer S. Palani was present on the occasion.
List with regard to every local body would be displayed in respective offices of the local bodies viz. panchayat, town panchayat and municipality. The list would also be displayed in approved public places and wards in municipalities and town panchayats.
Draft lists of panchayats would be displayed in Gram Sabha meet of respective panchayats to be held on May 1. Officials have been deputed to carry-out correction, addition and removal of details for 860 panchayats, 72 municipal wards and 42 town panchayat wards in the district.
People may check the list and register their objections and corrections by filling a form. The forms may be submitted to the respective officers between April 27 and May 17. These forms would be taken into consideration and the final list would be released in rural areas on June 10 and in urban areas on June 17, it is said.
