Collector honours HMs, teachers

: Teachers, headmistresses and headmasters of schools which had produced exemplary results in the board exams were felicitated by Collector C.Kathiravan here on Thursday.

Speaking at the function organised by the Education Department at Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Mr. Kathiravan urged teachers to take responsibility to improve the pass percentage and impart social consciousness and responsibility amongst students.

The expertise of retired teachers should be used for improvements in schools, the Collector said.

Over 25 teachers were felicitated each with gold medals during the occasion. Also, 32 students who had lost an earning parent was given government aid of Rs.75,000.
