CM announces solatium for relatives of fire accident victims

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.Karunanidhi on Saturday announced a solatium of Rs.1 lakh to the kith and kin of all the 32 persons who were killed in a fire accident on Friday night at a fire cracker godown at Pallipattu near Tiruttani.

According to official sources, majority of the deceased persons were residents of nearby Andhra Pradesh State and only five of them were the residents of Tamil Nadu. However, the Chief Minister decided to extend the solatium to the families of all the deceased persons irrespective of their domicile. Subsequently, Fisheries Minister K.P.P.Samy was directed by the Chief Minister to call on the deceased persons’ families waiting at the Government Hospital, Tiruttani and console them.

Collector V.Palanikumar and other senior officials accompanied the Minister.
