Krishnagiri district has produced the state topper in the >class XII higher secondary examination , which saw an over-all pass percentage of 90.6 per cent.
According to the Directorate of Government Examinations which released the results on Friday this is an increase from last year’s 88.1 per cent. S. Sushanthi, from Srivid Mandhir Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Krishnagiri district topped the state with 1193 out of 1200 with Tamil as first language. A.L. Alamelu from Srivijayvi Girls Higher Secondary School in Dharmapuri stood second with Tamil as first language with 1192/ 1200. The third rank is being shared by D. Thulasirajan, from Green Park Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Namakkal and S. Nitya of Prince Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Madipakkam who both got 1191/1200. The official state toppers are those who took Tamil as a language.
According to a press release the first rank among students who did not take Tamil as first language, is being shared by two students, N. Vishnupriya from Bharathi Vidya Bhavan Matriculation Higher Secondary School from Erode and P. Anandhi from SV Hindu Girls Higher Secondary School, Trichy who have scored 1193/1200.
Girls once again outshone boys with a pass percentage of 93.4 per cent. Boys scored a pass percentage of 87.4 per cent. According to the Directorate, 8,80,352 students wrote the examination this year.
