The first batch of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel arrived at the Madras High Court Bench here on Tuesday and took stock of the topography of the court campus before beginning trial run of the security arrangements from Wednesday. A court official said that CISF cover would be provided only to the main building housing the court halls and the administrative block leaving all other buildings, including the law officers’ building, the one housing the lawyer’s chambers and the VIP guest house to the local police.

While advocates, court staff and journalists would be allowed inside the main building by producing their identity cards, litigants would have to collect entry passes from an office to be set up at a building that was once used as a public canteen next to the fire station, the officer added.
