Cinema halls warned against fleecing public

The district administration has warned cinema halls against fleecing the public by overpricing tickets.

In a series of guidelines issued by the administration under the mandate of the Tamil Nadu Cinema (Regulation) Rules, 1957, all cinema halls in the district are directed to display Government-determined ticket prices in a visible spot for the public to see, and are forbidden from pricing tickets over and above the Government-determined prices.

Sanitation

The theatre owners have also been directed to ensure maintenance of sanitation inside the halls and in the precincts of the halls. This includes sanitation and adequate water in the toilets. All cinema halls should have provision of fire exits and fire extinguishers and accompanying safety provisions. The fiat issued under the Tamil Nadu Cinema (Regulation) Rules, has warned cinema halls of action for violations.

Further, the public may place their complaints against cinema halls operating in Krishnagiri, Uthangarai, and Pochampalli over phone on 9445000429; and against those operating in Hosur and Denkanikottai on 9445000430.
