Cinema Express Editor dead

R. Shivakumar (49), Editor, Cinema Express , a magazine of The New Indian Express Group of Publications, died on Sunday morning.

He was admitted to a private hospital here after he developed breathing problem and respiratory congestion two days ago. On Sunday, he died of cardiac arrest. He is survived by wife, a son and daughter. Earlier, he was the Editor of Tamilan Express , another magazine from the Express stable.

Chinna Kuthoosi (77), a veteran journalist and a Dravidian thinker, died on Sunday. Born as R. Thiagarajan in a Brahmin family, he served as a teacher for a few years and also as a private secretary to E.V.K. Sampath before dedicating himself to journalism. He wrote regularly in Murasoli , the party organ of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, besides contributing to Nakkeeran and Ethiroli .

DMK president M. Karunanidhi and Dravidar Kazhagam president K. Veeramani condoled the death of Chinna Kuthoosi. He was a bachelor.
