The draft of the socio-economic and caste census undertaken on the basis of the 2011 census in Tiruvannamalai district will be displayed in all panchayat offices in respect of the village panchayats, and in concerned municipal and town panchayat offices in respect of the municipalities and town panchayats on April 27.
According to a release from the Collector, the census will be kept for public perusal at the Grama Sabha meetings to be held in village panchayats on May 1 in connection with May Day. Applications for inclusions, objections and corrections, should be submitted to the designated officers between April 27 and May 17.
After considering the applications, the final list will be published on June 10 in rural areas and June 17 in urban areas. Further particulars could be obtained by contacting the block development officers (in respect of village panchayats) and the Commissioners (municipalities) and executive officers (town panchayats).
