Flying squad seized Rs. 90,000 from a fisherman on Saturday.
According to officials, the cash was seized from Antony Jegan of Kodimunai during the regular vehicle check in Kallukkuttam by the flying squad headed by Deputy Tahsildhar Thiruvazhi.
Antony Jegan’s bike was intercepted by the members of the flying squad and they found Rs. 90,000 with him. As Mr. Antony failed to prove the purpose of carrying cash above Rs. 50,000, as per the guidelines of ECI, the officials seized the amount and handed it over to the district election authorities, sources said.
