Case filed against helmet trader

A case was filed against helmet trader D. Jegadeesan of Kamarajpuram at Arumuganeri for selling helmets at an exorbitant price to a buyer J. Senthilkumaran (29) of Muduku Street, North Authoor on Friday.

According to sources, a helmet was sold at Rs.1, 400 in a fancy shop at Arumuganeri bazaar. Though the maximum retail price was Rs.585, he was forced to buy the same at Rs.1,400. He bought two helmets at Rs.2,800.

A receipt was given to the buyer. Senthilkumaran shared the receipt with Superintendent of Police Ashwin M. Kotnis on his WhatsApp number 9487008800, seeking action against the trader. Based on his complaint, the Arumuganeri police filed a case against Jegadeesan.

The SP said that action would be taken against him.
