The Velampalayam police are inquiring into a complaint of corporal punishment meted out to a three-year-old girl in a private school in Sirupooluvapatti by her teacher.

The girl’s father complained that he noticed injuries on the child when she returned from school on Thursday evening.

She said she was assaulted by her teacher, Daniel, for not taking her lunch.
