Case against AIADMK MP Thambidurai

The Vazhapadi police have registered a case against senior All India Anna Dravida Munetra Kazhagam functionary and Member of the Parliament (MP) M. Thambidurai on Sunday for allegedly threatening a Dravida Munetra Kazhagam functionary in connection with the by-poll. This is the first case registered against the AIADMK after the date for the Yercaud by-poll was announced on October 4.

The police said the case was registered against him and a few other AIADMK cadres under sections 341 (Punishment for wrongful restraint), 323 (Punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (i) (Punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.
