The State government, along with NGOs, would conduct a career guidance counselling session for Class 10 and Class 12 students on April 6 and 7.
Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, School Education Minister K.A. Sengottaiyan said the counselling would be held in all 32 district headquarters, 124 municipalities and 385 panchayat unions across the State.
“It would be held in a total of 541 places. With the aim to make Tamil Nadu numero uno in the country in education, we are conducting this counselling,” he said. The counselling would be held on either of the days – April 6 or 7 this year.
The Minister also extended his wishes for Class 12 students whose board exams are commencing from Thursday (March 2).
Replying to a query on NEET, Mr. Sengottaiyan said the Chief Minister has already explained the State’s stand to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi earlier this week. Asked about the change of syllabus for Class 12, he said a decision would be taken within a week.
When his attention was drawn to the vacancies in Examinations Department, he said if representatives called on him and raised the issues, he would look into them. As for the vacancy in the Fee Committee, Mr. Sengottaiyan asked to wait for a day, as a decision was being awaited from the Chief Minister.
