Camp for ration card corrections held

The special camp for name inclusion or deletion and correction of data on the ration cards has received a good response in the Kancheepuram district, officials involved in the operation said.

Errors in names, address

The Civil Supplies Department gearing up for issuance of smart PDS cards within this calendar year.

Enquiries reveal that the beneficiaries who have failed or have been unable to include the names of their wards or wanting to correct the mistakes in the names and address in the card have utilised the opportunity extended to them through the special camps conducted by the Civil Supplies department.

On an average, 30 to 40 applications were received at the taluk-level special camps held on Saturday in the Kancheepuram district, sources added.

The exercise assumes importance as the Civil Supplies Dept. will issue Smart PDS cards soon
