Putting an end to the long delay in operating bus services on the newly constructed Ananda Bridge, the district administration has notified the route in the district gazette.

The order number 1949/2015 (C-3) dated February 23, 2015 by the District Collector K. New route

Hence, city buses should ply through Head Post Office, Henry House, Valluvar Statue, Rajaji Statue, Collectorate, Bretts Road, Mulvadi Gate, Cherry Road, Town Railway Station, Ananda Bridge, Second Agraharam, DMS, Sand Market and Ponammapet to reach the destinations.

Private bus operators were refusing to operate along the bridge citing additional expenses.
