A 43-year-old man, who was admitted for treatment of burns at the Government Vellore Medical College Hospital (GVMCH), allegedly committed suicide on Monday night.
Fire accident
According to hospital authorities, Selvam, a resident of Gudiyatham, was a cook who had sustained 34 per cent burns in a fire accident.
On Monday night, he had gone to the bathroom in the ward, and committed suicide by hanging.
Vellore Taluk police have registered a case.
