B.P. Rajan dead

Dental surgeon and founder chairman of RAGAS Dental College Dr. B. P. Rajan died in Chennai on Tuesday.

He was 79.

Dr. Rajan, who was former Vice-Chancellor of The Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, had held several important posts such as Dean, Tamil Nadu Government Dental College Hospital and president of Dental Council of India and the Indian Dental Association.

The founder of the Rajan Dental Institute, Dr. Rajan was also nominated as the special representative of the government at New Delhi (Cabinet rank).

On the academic front, he was conferred the FDSRCPS (Glasgow) and DSc by the Dr. MGR University.
