Boys emerge on top in Perambalur

It was all boys show in the district who secured the top three ranks in the Plus Two examinations, the results of which were declared on Friday.

G. Kavin Raj and A. Anand of Sri Ramakrishna Matriculation HSS, Perambalur, and Eden Garden HSS, Udumbiam, respectively shared the first rank in the district. Each scored 1,187 marks. The second rank was bagged by K. Navaneethan of Sri Ramakrishna Matric HSS scoring 1,184 marks. The third rank was obtained by R. Guru from the Sri Ramakrishna Matric HSS, Perambalur. He secured 1,183 marks. Educational department officials said the overall pass percentage in the Plus Two examinations increased this year to 96.03 in the district.

The number of students who wrote the Plus Two examinations this year was 7,548. Of them, 7,248 passed.
