A nine-year-old boy was mowed down by a tractor at Vaniyambadi on Sunday. According to police, Mohammed Azaan, a resident of Noorullahpet in Vaniyambadi, was going to the market with his grandfather Naseer Ahmed in a two-wheeler at around 8 a.m.
A tractor transporting water hit the motorbike from behind. In the impact, Azaan, who was on the pillion, fell on the right side of the road, while his grandfather fell on the left side. The boy was run over by the tractor. He was rushed to the hospital but died of injuries.
