The body of a small boy was found at a remote locality near Melapandiapuram under Maniaychi police limits on Wednesday.

The body was in a decomposed state. Sources said the boy was identified as M. Sudalaimani (2), who went missing on April 2.

The boy followed his mother, who took out her cattle for grazing. But all of a sudden, the boy was found nowhere else. However, the cause behind the death was yet to be ascertained.

After a long search, a ‘child missing’ case was filed based on a complaint lodged by Shanmugathai (30), mother of the deceased.

The body was taken to the Government Hospital, Ottapidaram for post mortem.

After the boy was found dead, the Maniyachi police have filed a case.
