Boy falls under train

July 24, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:41 am IST - DHARMAPURI:

Mohan Jayasurya (18), hailing from Thingalpayalayam in Rasipuram, fell under a running train at Morappur Railway Station here on Saturday.

He, along with his mother Kalaiselvi, was on way to Chennai to attend the medical college admission counselling.

When the Salem-Chennai Intercity Express stopped at Morappur station, he got down from the general compartment to meet his friend Kavi Shankar.

They couldn’t get into the train when it started moving. Jayasurya missed the footboard and fell under the running train. The passengers pulled the chain and the train came to a halt a few kilometres from the station.
