A special Tamil Nadu police team on Tuesday nabbed a militant of the National Democratic Front of Bodoland near the Karnataka border on Tuesday.
Superintendent of Police A.G. Babu told The Hindu that Laimwn Boro alias Langdong (29) was arrested near SIPCOT in Hosur on a tip-off from the Assam police.
Mr. Babu said Langdong faced several criminal charges. Based on mobile phone signals, the special team zeroed in on Ballur village where the militant was staying along with three others.
Police waited on the Tamil Nadu side till dawn to capture him. As soon as the militant crossed the Karnataka border he was arrested and taken to the Hudco police station.
Enquiries revealed that Langdong was set to join a chemical factory a fortnight ago. The other three joined the same company about three months ago.
Police sources said officers from the Special Investigation Unit and the IB conducted enquiries with Langdong and his roommates at the police station.
The special team was led by P. Thangaraj, Inspector, and S. Umashankar, Sub-Inspector of the Krishnagiri Town Police.
