Bodi betel leaf vendor alleges cheating

A petitioner from Bodi demanded action against an employee, who had collected Rs.5.5 lakh from him and issued a bogus appointment order for the post of a teacher in a government-aided school in Dindigul, here on Monday.

In a petition submitted to the Collector during the grievance day meeting here on Monday, betel leaf vendor S. Stalin of Thrumalapuram, Bodinayakkur, Theni district, said K. Mariammal, the then personal assistant working at Periyakulam educational district office had demanded Rs.5.5 lakh to get a job for his son in a government aided school in Dindigul and handed over an appointment order for the post of a teacher.

“When I went to the school, the authorities informed that he had been duped. When I questioned the staff, she admitted that there was a mistake in getting the appointment order and assured to refund the amount. But she did not return the sum till date,” he alleged. He sent a petition to the Chief Minister’s cell in this connection.
